California Human Development, in conjunction with the Glenn County Office of Education Adult Program, offers a Truck Driving Preparation Course at GCOE’s Learning Center South in Willows, California. The goal of the program is to create opportunities for people to rise above barriers in pursuit of better lives by offering training for jobs such as truck driving. The course is 8 weeks long and includes class time as well as “behind the wheel'“ time. The class repeats several times a year.

The recruitment process is handled by Norma Chavez at CHD’s Chico office, 916-371-8220 Ext. 1050 or 1051. Call Norma for the date of the next class.

Good information to know:

  • Interested individuals need to complete and submit a Motor Vehicle record.

  • Participants need to obtain a DMV H-6 printout for a 10-year driving record.

  • Anyone that has received a DUI in the past 7 years cannot be enrolled in the course.

  • Participants will be drug tested prior to the beginning of the program.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
